As an athlete, I have always strived to empower and challenge myself and those around me. My life has always involved sports, movement, and lots of time outdoors, but that has not always been an easy balance due to chronic illness. I have experienced firsthand the physical, emotional, and financial barriers created by chronic illness and disability and I know how challenging it can be to find supportive movement and nutrition practices that allow you to feel good on a daily basis. I am fortunate that I have been able to translate my own learning process into something accessible to others via Alien Athletes, and now that journey continues through Weaver Holistic.
As a coach, I prioritize honoring each individual person’s diverse needs and boundaries as an integral part of providing truly holistic, inclusive, and supportive coaching. All coaching is customized to each client and I offer all services virtually (via video and digital programming) with or without any additional fitness equipment, making it easier for people to engage in movement in whatever manner works best for them.
At Weaver Holistic, my goal is to empower and support you as you explore what your body is capable of— physically, mentally, and emotionally. Everyone deserves access to spaces where they can move freely and safely as they are, without further qualification or an expectation of change.
Previously, Alien Athletes used the tagline “Fitness for All Life Forms.” While I still love the sentiment of that expression (and I am a sucker for space puns), the past 5+ years in the fitness industry have led me to believe that what I am doing at Weaver Holistic goes beyond making coaching accessible. My goal as a coach is not to teach clients how to force their bodies into submission or design grueling workouts that feel like punishment. My goal is to help clients learn to work with (not against or in spite of) their bodies and minds to push themselves in ways that are sustainable, rewarding, and ultimately, fulfilling while maintaining curiosity and excitement in their pursuit of growth and exploration of movement. Hence, the shift to the new tagline, “Movement with Intention.” I am also excited to be offering holistic nutrition coaching and habit coaching centered on using neuroscience and polyvagal theory to form new habits, promote health-positive behaviors, and create sustainable routines— something I and many of my clients with chronic illness have struggled with over the years.
In many ways, Alien Athletes has breathed, evolved, and expanded alongside me over the course of my own healing journey. When I started Alien Athletes in 2018, I felt alienated by most traditional gym spaces. I knew I was not alone in that sentiment. In response, I left the gym I was working at and dove headfirst into creating my own coaching practice that allowed people to show up authentically and completely as themselves, inside and outside sessions. I am proud to say that Weaver Holistic and Alien Athletes have now been offering trauma-informed, mindfulness-based holistic coaching for people of all genders, sizes, and abilities at sliding scale rates for over 5 years in-person in Rhode Island and, virtually, across the world (literally!). Now, yet another new chapter has begun as my family has recently relocated back to my childhood home at the beaches in Jacksonville, FL.
Growth is a never-ending process and Alien Athletes has served as a positive vessel for change for me and, I hope, many others. The journey continues now with Weaver Holistic. This type of coaching is ideal for individuals who enjoy working independently and feel fairly comfortable following a program with limited hands-on coaching. Though the app used for program delivery is very user-friendly, some familiarity with strength training is helpful for this type of programming. Seasoned athletes or individuals with sport-specific fitness goals are ideal for remote coaching as it is an extremely flexible and affordable way to access personalized strength programming.**

Holistic Nutrition Coaching
Evidence-based, 1-on-1 support for individuals looking to improve their overall relationship with food and create habits that support holistic health. These sessions include identifying challenges around nutrition, establishing more regular eating patterns, helping you identify and respond to hunger cues, navigating stress responses, reframing your mindset around food, and providing evidence-based nutrition information to help you confidently create and structure your meals to match your overall health and wellness goals. These sessions are weight neutral and you will never be asked to weigh yourself or provide measurements. The focus of our time together is to help you build healthy, sustainable habits in alignment with current nutrition science and established dietary recommendations. Alex has extensive experience working with clients with dietary restrictions, including vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and low-glycemic diets. As part of these services, we are happy to help you explore meal ideas, grocery lists, and other strategies to help you reach your nutritional goals.
